Seven Seas licenses Secret Relationships for 2027 print release
Seven Seas will publish the first English print volume of McQueen Studio’s Secret Relationships in August 2027.
Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed Secret Relationships, a Boys’ Love manhwa by McQueen Studio, for an English-language print release. The publisher announced the acquisition on 21 October, with the first volume scheduled for August 2027. 12
The series follows Daon, who grew up in poverty and works hard to avoid financial trouble, and his colleague Sunghyeon. Their relationship changes after Sunghyeon sees Daon’s parents asking him for money at work. Seven Seas describes the story as an office romance shaped by rivalry, old feelings and a secret Daon has kept from everyone.
The webtoon also involves Daon’s former tutor and mentor, Jaemin, adding another unresolved relationship to the central drama. The publisher says the series inspired a live-action adaptation, although its announcement focuses on the forthcoming English print edition rather than providing release details for that adaptation.
The English release
Secret Relationships (Comic) Vol. 1 will be published in August 2027 under Seven Seas’ Webtoons label. The large-trim edition is priced at $22.99 in the US and $30.99 in Canada, according to the publisher. Seven Seas has not announced a UK price in the licensing notice.
The announcement gives English-language readers a first print route into a series that has already built an audience as a webtoon. It also places the title alongside the publisher’s wider programme of manhwa and webtoon releases, rather than treating it as a one-off digital licence.
What we know
The first volume is planned for August 2027, but the announcement does not provide a specific day or details of later volumes. Seven Seas also does not list a UK price in the post, so readers elsewhere will need to wait for regional retailer information.
The underlying hook is straightforward: two work rivals are pushed into a closer relationship while Daon’s past and financial pressures complicate what might otherwise be a conventional office romance. That combination gives the licence a clear identity, while the publisher’s large-trim format signals that this is intended as a physical release for manga and manhwa shelves.
Our opinion
This is a sensible licence for Seven Seas’ Webtoons line because the announcement makes the series’ appeal immediately legible without pretending the 2027 release is closer than it is. The workplace rivalry, family pressure and tangled history give Secret Relationships more to work with than a simple enemies-to-lovers pitch. The wait is long, but the August 2027 date and confirmed pricing at least make the print plan concrete. The missing UK price is a minor gap rather than a problem with the announcement itself.
For now, the useful takeaway is that English print readers have a confirmed route to the first volume, while details such as the exact publication date, later volumes and regional pricing remain to come.
