The Vermilion Mask Episode 5 will follow Peru and his companions as they plan a rescue after spending the night at the apartment of Gianni, according to the latest episode preview information. Episode 5 looks like a useful turning point rather than a disposable week-to-week detour. The Disguise Mask gives the rescue plot a clear supernatural hook, but Peru’s admission about Gaston’s death is the more important detail: it puts emotional responsibility alongside the series’ rules about power. Crown’s attempt to recruit him should test whether that guilt makes Peru easier to manipulate, or more determined to destroy every mask in his master’s legacy.
