The Vermilion Mask sets 10 October anime premiere
The dark fantasy anime reveals six new cast members, two theme songs and an October 10 Japanese premiere in its latest trailer.

The Vermilion Mask has unveiled its second main trailer, a new key visual, six additional cast members and an October 10 premiere date. The anime will arrive as a two-part series, with Crunchyroll handling its streaming release.
The new trailer also gives both theme songs room to breathe: MAN WITH A MISSION performs the opening theme “Firestarter”, while yutori provides the ending theme “Koe”. It is a lot of theatrical menace for one trailer, but this is an anime about masks, necromancy and people carrying emotional baggage like it is part of the costume design.
What's actually going on
The Vermilion Mask premieres in Japan on 10 October 2026. Tetsuaki Watanabe directs, with One Double-O handling animation production. Daisuke Ohigashi oversees series composition, Hisashi Higashijima serves as character designer and chief animation director, and Alisa Okehazama composes the music.
The new cast members are Kenji Nojima as Hien, Aoi Koga as Lasgarl, Yuki Shin as Clown, Akihisa Wakayama as Rinne, Aya Endo as the Mask of Necromancy and Yui Horie as Master. Taihi Kimura leads the cast as Peru d’Arrest.
The anime adapts the manga written by Dr. Poro and illustrated by Nabana Naba, which is serialised in Young King OURs. The original creators are supervising the story, and the production has confirmed that the first cour will be followed by a second part.
The October premiere and Crunchyroll streaming arrangement are the confirmed availability details. The sources do not establish a separate UK release time, so international viewers should check the service’s local listing rather than treating the Japanese broadcast date as a universal schedule.
Why you should care
The series has a strong production hook: a modern dark fantasy built around masks that can disguise, protect and transform their users. Add a serious cast, a two-part structure and a soundtrack with MAN WITH A MISSION attached, and this is shaping up as one of the more distinctive autumn anime announcements.
Our opinion
The Vermilion Mask looks like it knows exactly what sort of mood it wants: stylish, ominous and just theatrical enough to make every character entrance feel like a warning. The October date is close enough to matter, and the new trailer gives the series a convincing identity. Keep this one on the autumn watchlist.
