Witch on the Holy Night film sets its supercell theme
Aniplex's final trailer for the ufotable film carries supercell's new song in full, with a fresh character visual and advance tickets on sale from 2 October.

The Witch on the Holy Night film has a theme song, and it belongs to supercell. Aniplex said on 30 September that the finished trailer was shown during a late-night information special, that supercell's new song 「夜と青」 (Yoru to Ao) carries its entire first verse, and that the film's synopsis and full staff list are now public.
The trailer is the longest look yet at the adaptation of Kinoko Nasu's visual novel. It leans on new cuts rather than reusing the teasers, and it arrived with a release-date reminder: the film opens in Japanese cinemas on 20 November 2026.
The credits are public at last
TYPE-MOON's original material is credited to Kinoko Nasu, with original character design by Hirokazu Koyama and original character concepts by Takashi Takeuchi. Sho Takeuchi directs, Moe Tsuzuki handles character design and Masato Nagamori is chief animation director, with ufotable on script production and animation and Hikaru Kondo as chief director. Hideyuki Fukazawa composes, and Toho and Aniplex share distribution.
The film's own site lists Haruka Tomatsu as Aoko Aozaki, Kana Hanazawa as Alice Kuonji and Yusuke Kobayashi as Soujuurou Shizuki, the three characters the story throws together on a rain-soaked morning.
A character visual, and tickets from Friday
A character visual drawn by Hirokazu Koyama has been released, and Mubichike advance tickets go on sale from Friday 2 October in two designs — one built on that new character visual, one on the film's special key visual. Both are card-style tickets that buyers collect before the run starts.
The TYPE-MOON and ufotable back catalogue opens up
Alongside the trailer, Aniplex began a retrospective project for the two studios. The Kara no Kyoukai films and the Fate/stay night [Heaven's Feel] trilogy move from per-title rental to unlimited streaming, an ABEMA channel will run free marathon broadcasts of TYPE-MOON and ufotable work, and a Fate/Zero collaboration visual marking that series' 15th anniversary is due on 1 October at 20:00 JST.
Our opinion
Trailer-plus-theme-song announcements are the most disposable part of an anime campaign, and this one is worth reading closely because of where the weight sits. Giving the final trailer the whole first verse of a new supercell song, rather than a fifteen-second cut, tells you the distributor expects the song to sell the film to people who have never opened the visual novel. The back-catalogue move is the sharper play: unlimited streaming for Kara no Kyoukai and Heaven's Feel is a reminder aimed squarely at the audience that made those films a fixture, and it costs Aniplex almost nothing to run before its own film arrives on 20 November.
