Mika Yamamori’s In the Clear Moonlit Dusk has reached 8.2 million copies in circulation and will conclude with its 12th volume next spring.
The high-school romance In the Clear Moonlit Dusk is heading towards its final bow. Mika Yamamori announced in the author’s notes for the manga’s 11th volume that the series will end with the next volume, due next spring.
The wraparound band on volume 11 also reports that the manga has reached 8.2 million copies in circulation globally. Kodansha published the 11th collected volume in Japan on 11 September, putting the series’ final stretch firmly on the calendar without pretending that a more precise date has been announced.
The manga follows Yoi Takiguchi, a girl with long legs, a deep voice and a handsome face who has long been nicknamed “Prince”. Her meeting with Ichimura-senpai changes that routine, particularly because he is the first person to seem to notice Yoi as herself. The pair’s relationship is complicated by the fact that he is also known as a prince.
Yamamori launched the series in Dessert magazine in 2020. Kodansha USA Publishing has licensed the manga in English, while Crunchyroll streamed its anime adaptation as it aired in Japan. A live-action film adaptation is scheduled to open in Japan on 23 October.
The announcement gives readers a clear endpoint while leaving the final volume’s exact release date and the English publication timetable to be confirmed. For a romance built around two people trying to see one another clearly, at least the ending now has a much less mysterious shape.

Ending with volume 12 gives In the Clear Moonlit Dusk room to finish deliberately rather than drifting into an endless procession of almost-confessions. The 8.2 million-copy milestone shows the series has found a substantial audience, and the priority now is a satisfying landing rather than squeezing one more detour out of the journey.
